Although when Terry starts to berate Stan after Tank makes it clear beyond a doubt he won't accept his son being gay, Francine steps forward and defends Stan. DS9 actually did have a surrogacy plot line in Season 5.
"Your doctor called.
Watch! I don't know why I said that.
Terry's father is coming for a visit, but doesn't know that his son is gay. He also doesn't consider how keeping up this lie effects Stan, Francine and Greg.
But the fact remains that they lost nine months hiding in the attic in complete fear and paranoia, so in the end, Klaus did get a measure of vengeance.
Tank retorts that thousands of drunk football fans will literally cheer for anything, ruining Stan's point.
Tank: You think I care what these drunken slobs think?!
So when he visits, Terry says he's living with Francine and that Stan is gay.Terry's father, a former star fullback for the Redskins, doesn't know that Terry is gay. Terry punches him in the face.
Stan:That wasn't campy at all!
Stan: Wait, you fight just like my kids.
So when he visits, Terry says he's living with Francine and that Stan is gay.Terry's father, a former star fullback for the Redskins, doesn't know that Terry is gay. He said the baby you are carrying for two gay men is perfectly fine and YOU SHOULD BE VERY EXCITED!!!"
Francine manages to stop Terry, pointing out Stan was the one who tried to help Terry this whole time even if it didn't work.
Later as they get ready for Francine's delivery, Terry's visibly annoyed as Greg reads "Everybody Poops Except A Baby Without An Anus."
Francine: I can't believe your father would do something like this!
Hayley: I can.
Francine: Yeah, I guess I can too.
After Stan leaves and is confronted by Francine, a group of men dressed in West Side Story costumes show up and ask if they missed the rumble, to which Stan says they did to their disappointment.
Dancer: Oh, you had to go and change your belt?
Tank makes it clear he understands how homosexuality works, is not a closeted queer man, and doesn't care at all that his son has no choice in how he identifies, he still hates it.
As she puts it, even if Stan messed up, he was still trying to help and ultimately, it's better for Terry to let go of Tank after seeing his father absolutely won't let go of his prejudice.
.
Meanwhile, after Klaus swears horrible revenge on Steve and Roger for pushing him down a water slide, the two become reclusive and hide in the attic. This episode includes examples of:
- Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs: In a visual example, Francine imagines Stan's response to telling him that she's pregnant.
Roger then puts a stack of books on top of Klaus's bowl, trapping him, and wonders why they didn't just do that nine months earlier.
- My Fist Forgives You: After returning the children, Stan apologizes for his actions. Just like...normal kids.
Jason: We are normal kids, you moron!
- Panicky Expectant Father: Greg. erm...
(into microphone) I just had a beer fart!
Crowd: YAAAAAAAAAY!!! - Misplaced Retribution: By the very end of the episode, after Tank makes it clear he'll never be okay with Terry's homosexuality, Terry tries to lay into Stan for all of this happening as if it's his fault Tank is a stubborn homophobe. First he gets ready to attack her with a shattered beer bottle.
