While Hallmark+ has continued to feature some inclusive stories, viewers are eager to see more gay and lesbian Hallmark movies front and center in the network’s biggest lineups.
We remain hopeful that Hallmark will continue expanding authentic representation across its movies and series. It’s sometimes a little cheesy but the film is sweet with its heart in the right place.
No new gay or lesbian movies premiered in 2025.
Bonus points: Jinkx Monsoon & BenDeLaCreme are on hand for a couple of holiday songs.
4) The Christmas House (2020) – Hallmark+, Amazon Prime & Others
Older stars playing the parents: Treat Williams & Sharon Lawrence
Romantic chemistry?
Parsons and Aldridge give stirring and heartfelt performances, allowing the viewer to see inside a relationship in all of its complexities. I’m not here to crap on the genre, but there is a conveyor belt feel to these films. Brandon and Jake’s storyline was a subplot, but an important one as it dealt with them trying to adopt. Under the Christmas Tree has the perfect amount of charm and sweetness for this queer Christmas romance.

Single All The Way (2021)
Single All the Way is one of the best Netflix Christmas movies. It follows best friends Peter (Michael Urie) and Nick (Philemon Chambers) as they travel to Peter’s home.
Treat Williams. His mom tries to set him up with Luke Macfarlane anyway.
Same genre, but overall higher quality thanks to the cast and Clea Duvall’s writing & direction. Who are these people? It’s a very sweet and charming film, even if it is also a bit rough around the edges. Rick Cosnett plays the Winslet role – a Brit transplanted in L.A. Maybe it’s the wine, but I found this one rather enjoyable.
12 & 13) Christmas on Cherry Lane / Season’s Greetings From Cherry Lane (2023/2024) – Hallmark +
There are actually four of these Cherry Lane Christmas movies – all are centered on the same house is different eras.
The film starts with Jordan (Joseph Lim Kim) proposing to his boyfriend Dave (Richard Pierre-Louis), but Dave is hesitant to respond. The Holiday Exchange stars Taylor Frey, Rick Cosnett, Samer Salem, and Daniel Garcia. One caveat: I wanted Kristen Stewart’s character to end up with Aubrey Plaza. The LGBTQ+ storyline was seamlessly and naturally added into the fold without Hallmark making a big deal about them being a same-sex couple, or adding any prejudice or coming out storylines.
In 2021, Hallmark made a sequel to this movie called The Christmas House 2: Deck Those Halls.
Charlie (Tattiawna Jones) and Alma (Elise Bauman) are immediately drawn to each other. This particular film focuses on several different families, one of whom is the couple Mike and Zain (played by Jonathan Bennett and Vincent Rodriguez III), who will meet their new foster daughter. It knows itself and is happy to let those who get it find it and embrace the queerness of this love story.

Happiest Season (2020)
Happiest Season starts with Abby (Kristen Stewart) planning to propose to Harper (Mackenzie Davis), but she then learns that she’s going to have to go back into the closet while they’re around Harper’s family.
